Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern Policy
The International Journal of Social Science and Entrepreneurship (IJSSE) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Where significant issues are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate editorial action in a timely, transparent, and fair manner.
Corrections
A correction may be published when a significant error is identified in a published article that affects the accuracy, interpretation, or completeness of the work but does not invalidate its overall findings.
Corrections may relate to, but are not limited to:
● Author names or affiliations;
● Funding information;
● References or citations;
● Tables, figures, or supplementary materials;
● Minor factual or typographical errors affecting interpretation.
Corrections will be clearly linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Retractions
A published article may be retracted where there is clear evidence that:
● the findings are unreliable due to fabrication, falsification, or significant error;
● plagiarism or duplicate publication has occurred;
● unethical research practices have been identified;
● the publication resulted from manipulation of the peer review or editorial process;
● there has been a serious breach of the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.
Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original article and will clearly state the reason for the retraction. The original article will remain part of the scholarly record unless exceptional legal circumstances require otherwise.
Expressions of Concern
Where serious concerns arise regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article, but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is ongoing, the Editor-in-Chief may publish an Expression of Concern.
An Expression of Concern serves to inform readers of potential issues while allowing appropriate investigations to be completed.
The notice may be updated, replaced by a correction, or followed by a retraction once the investigation has concluded.
Editorial Investigation
When concerns are raised regarding a published article, the Editorial Office may:
● request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors;
● consult reviewers, editors, or independent experts where appropriate;
● communicate with the authors' affiliated institutions or relevant organizations when necessary; and take editorial action based on the available evidence.
Investigations will be conducted confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy and Research Misconduct Policy.
Editorial Responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief has the final responsibility for decisions relating to corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions. All decisions will be made fairly, transparently, and solely in the interest of preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.
