Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Purpose
The International Journal of Social Science and Entrepreneurship (IJSSE) recognizes
the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies in scholarly research and academic publishing. This policy establishes the journal's expectations regarding the responsible, ethical, and transparent use of AI by authors, reviewers, editors and the Editorial Office.
This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to IJSSE and should be read alongside the journal's Publication Ethics Policy, Authorship Policy, and Conflict of Interest Policy.

General Principles
Artificial Intelligence tools may assist the research and writing process; however, they must not replace human intellectual contribution, scientific judgment, critical analysis, or academic responsibility.
Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and ethical standards of all scholarly work.

Use of AI by Authors
Authors may use AI tools to support activities such as:
● language editing and grammar improvement;
● improving readability and clarity;
● coding assistance;
● data organization and visualization;
● literature searching;
● reference management.
Authors remain fully responsible for:
● the originality of the manuscript;
● the accuracy of all statements, data, analyses, and conclusions;
● verification of AI-generated content;
● appropriate citation of all sources;
● compliance with publication ethics.
Where AI has made a significant contribution to the preparation of a manuscript, authors must disclose the AI tool used and briefly describe its purpose at the time of submission.

AI and Authorship
Artificial Intelligence systems, chatbots, or software applications cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility, accountability, or legal ownership of scholarly work.
Only individuals meeting the requirements of the journal's Authorship Policy may be listed as authors.

Use of AI by Reviewers
Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts received for peer review.
Reviewers should not upload confidential manuscript content to publicly available AI systems where confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property rights cannot be guaranteed.
Reviewers remain solely responsible for the quality, objectivity, and recommendations contained in their review reports.

Use of AI by Editors
Editors may use AI-assisted tools to support administrative or editorial activities where appropriate. However, all editorial decisions must be made independently by qualified editors.
Editors shall not rely solely on AI-generated recommendations when making editorial
decisions.

AI Detection and Editorial Assessment
As part of the editorial screening process, the journal may use AI detection software,
plagiarism detection software, and other editorial assessment tools to evaluate
submitted manuscripts.
The results generated by such tools are used only to assist the Editorial Office and do not constitute conclusive evidence of inappropriate AI use or research misconduct.
Editorial decisions will always be based on human assessment, academic judgment, and, where appropriate, clarification or supporting information provided by the authors.
Where concerns arise regarding the use of AI in a manuscript, the Editorial Office reserves the right to request additional explanations, supporting documentation, or revisions before making an editorial decision.

Unacceptable Use of AI
The following practices are considered unacceptable:
● listing AI systems as authors or co-authors;
● generating or manipulating research data, results, or conclusions without appropriate disclosure;
● fabricating references, citations, or source material;
● using AI to produce misleading, deceptive, or plagiarized content;
● any use of AI that violates the journal's Publication Ethics Policy or Research
Misconduct Policy.

Policy Review
As Artificial Intelligence technologies continue to evolve, IJSSE reserves the right to review and update this policy periodically to ensure alignment with international publishing standards and best practices
